Fake parcel texts surge at the start of the summer holidays

Fake text messages that look like they come from DHL, Hermes, DPD or GLS claim that address data is missing or a fee is due, and link to convincing fake websites that collect card details. Börse Express reports that Germany's BSI counts this kind of text-message phishing among the most widespread fraud methods, and cites the BSI's 2026 Cybersecurity Monitor finding that one in ten Germans has been a victim of cybercrime.
What to do: Do not open links in unexpected parcel texts. Track parcels only in the carrier's own app or website, and if you entered card details, call your bank at once and report it to the police.
Signal phishing hits about 300 accounts of officials and journalists

Germany suspects Russia is behind phishing that compromised about 300 Signal accounts of political figures, including two government ministers, military personnel and journalists. A fake Signal security chatbot warns of suspicious activity; entering a PIN or scanning a QR code links the attackers' device to the account and exposes chats and address books.
What to do: Do not enter your Signal PIN or scan a QR code because a chat message asked you to.
